The City of Oulu’s Työn Taitajat (Talents for Future) is organizing an event in collaboration with Oulu based companies, higher education institutions, secondary vocational education, Oulu Circular Economy Cluster, Oulu Innovation Alliance, International House Oulu, and Taikasatukulma.

Visit Highlights: Companies promoting circular economy and sustainable development, as well as educational institutions OSAO, Oulu University of Applied Sciences, and the University of Oulu.
The event will feature companies advancing the circular economy in diverse ways and contributing to a more sustainable future on a regional, national, and international scale. These businesses represent sectors such as the sharing economy, printed electronics, sustainable energy solutions, material recycling, smart waste management, carbon-conscious practices, and various service ecosystems that support the circular economy and combat climate change both nationally and globally.
Educational institutions will showcase their programs, courses, and qualification modules focused on circular economy and sustainable development.
The event is organized by Työn Taitajat.
Journey towards Sustainable Future – Circular Economy & Sustainability
The goal of the 2025 event is to introduce the circular economy and its career opportunities. The day features tailored content for children and young people of different ages. Session in English at 3.15 – 4.00 pm.
During the visit, participants will discover the types of businesses and professions the circular economy and sustainable development have created and continue to create. They will see what a typical workday in promoting sustainability looks like and learn about the skills needed in the field. Through career stories, attendees will gain insights into the expertise, the combination of diverse skill sets, and the mindset required for success. They will also learn how choices in school subjects and studies can lead to careers that contribute to advancing the circular economy and building a sustainable future.

The visit day will be held as a live webcast on the City of Oulu’s YouTube channel. A link to join the visit will be sent to registered participants before the event. Participants do not need a microphone or camera.

If necessary, individuals can also join the event without prior registration. Participation requires a computer or other smart device with audio output. Participants do not need a microphone or camera.
In schools, the visit can be projected onto the classroom screen so that everyone can follow the program.
