Logistics
The Oulu region is home to 800 transport and logistics companies, serving not only Oulu but also the entire Barents region in terms of business and tourism as well as export and import needs. The largest export and import port and land transport centre for unitised traffic in the Baltic Sea is located in Oritkari in Oulu. The area combines maritime, rubber tyre and rail traffic flows.
The annual Northern Logistics Forum, organised jointly with LOGY, brings together actors and developers in the field.
International freight forwarding and freight transport services are important for the region’s export and import activities. BusinessOulu participates in selected international logistics fairs every year in cooperation with the Port of Oulu Ltd and companies in the sector.
