Oulu is one of Europe’s most attractive business and excellence hubs in the health and life sciences sector, developing solutions for health and well-being and creating new business models and technologies.

Oulu offers unique testing and development environments, a highly skilled workforce and world-class expertise in digital health, 5G/6G technologies, medical imaging, printed electronics, and artificial intelligence. The Oulu region is home to around 600 companies in the Health and Life Science sector, of which around 100 use high technology.

We support companies in growth and internationalisation, by finding potential partners, by supporting them in obtaining funding and by increasing their visibility in Finland and internationally. Many of the companies in Oulu operate at the interface of the health and ICT sectors, which is an excellent example of cross-sectoral cooperation and expertise.

The OuluHealth ecosystem provides a unique development environment for the health and well-being sectors. The ecosystem brings together universities, researchers, health professionals and health technology companies to accelerate innovation, strengthen health technology business and improve people’s well-being.

OuluHealth will focus on the development of OYSTER – the RDIE centre for digital health, which will provide a unique platform for research, development, innovation and education in healthcare.
